SnoFox Sciences provides energy efficiency and predictive maintenance solutions to cold chain logistics providers. A VC-backed startup at the intersection of thermodynamics, data science, and mechanical engineering, SnoFox Sciences is revolutionizing the global cold chain through physics-based analytics.

The stakes couldn't be higher: the refrigeration sector is responsible for ~17% of global energy consumption. The UN estimates that demand on the food supply chain will increase by 70% in the coming years, and this year 80 billion pounds of food was wasted in the US alone – 30% of which is attributed to cold chain failure. Tragically, 50% of the world's vaccine supply goes to waste every year resulting in 1.5 million child deaths per year from vaccine-preventable illnesses.

What we're looking for

SnoFox is looking to hire a customer-facing Energy System Engineer (typically someone with a background in mechanical engineering or similar) who is responsible for the development, customization and deployment of thermal hydraulic models that are foundational to the SnoFox platform. Those in this role are expected to support customers across the implementation lifecycle from scoping to go-live in a consultative fashion.

What you’ll do

Development and stabilization of a digital twin model accurately representing the customer’s facility
Integration of field data to tune models
Interpretation of field and calculated data with a foundation in first principles
Interact with and advise customer throughout the onboarding process
Work closely with software engineering and product management teams to set direction of the product

Qualifications

Required:

4+ years of experience
Educational background in thermodynamics, heat & mass transfer, and energy systems
Energy system modeling/simulation tools such as: EBSILON®Professional, GateCycle, Simulink, Aspen HYSYS, or similar
Energy System Optimization
Data analysis - R, Python
